Xebec Proserpina
The wreck located west of Lehmäsaari island has broken up into several parts. It is probably the Russian xebec Proserpina that was completed at the St. Petersburg galley shipyard in 1789 and sank during the Second Battle of Svensksund. She sailed under the command of Engineer Captain Oppermann. Proserpina could be moved, using both sails and oars. In the turmoil of the battle, Proserpina lost its rigging, became rudderless between battle lines and ran onto rocks. It is likely that the Swedish scuttled the run-down vessel after the battle.
