Xebec Diana

The wreck located at the north tip of Lehmäsaari has disintegrated over a wide area. Its parts are spread over an area of around 900 m². It may be the Russian xebec Diana completed at the St. Petersburg galley shipyard in spring 1789 and lost during the Second Battle of Svensksund. It is evident from the charred parts that the vessel was burned before it sank. It is possible that the Russians burned the vessel to prevent it from being stolen by the Swedish.
