Russian gun sloop

About 50 metres north of the wreck of frigate Saint Nicholas is the wreck of a smaller wooden vessel. It lies upside down at the bottom of the sea. It may be the wreck of a Russian gun sloop sunk during the Second Battle of Svensksund. The wrecks name or more specific background is unknown. The history of smaller Russian vessels often remains unclear, as the navy did not keep close books on small support vessels. The assessments are often based on general information about the vessel type.
